Partner With Us to Make An Impact
2014 MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
As I look back at 2013, I am grateful for all the great moments of growth for CYAL. We made new connections, and expanded our reach not only in the United States, but in Africa as well. We are grateful for all of you who attend our events, partner with us, and continually engage us on our social platforms. It is not lost to us the responsibility we have as young leaders, and as an organization that has taken on the task of connecting young African leaders globally.
One of the major lessons we took from last year was that, we, as young Africans need to connect and engage with each other on a global scale. It is no longer enough to engage with each other in our local communities. Thankfully, the Internet and the easy access to mobile technology makes this easier everyday.
So what is our challenge for 2014?
CONNECT. ENGAGE. ACT
Connect: One of the key pillars in our mission is to connect with young Africans everywhere and provide a platform for dialogue. We are challenging you to make every effort to make that connection to different people in your community and beyond. But then what?
Engage: After making the connection, make sure to engage. After you take that business card from a networking event, make sure you take the first step to engage the person. They do say that a journey of 1000 miles begins with one step. You never know what opportunities lie ahead with this first step of reaching out.
Act: Connecting with people and engaging in dialogue always brings out ideas- but what good is an idea, if there is no action to back it up? Be proactive. Whatever your vision of Africa, be proactive in making that vision a reality.
Africa is our to build and shape as we wish, lets build it together and define our future.
